Our Dad was a very special person, a one off, always retaining his Eastern European character although in many ways he was very British. He was a proud father of the three of us. He was also a devoted husband to our Mum, Peggy - his wife of 66 years and thought the world of his grandchildren, Vincent and Iona. His daughter-in-law, Grace, often remembers him saying “With Peggy and the children, what more could I want?” which she always thought was a wonderful sentiment. Mum and Dad lived in our family home in Burnt Oak for 60 years and even after we had all left home, we came together for many happy family meals especially at Christmas and also in the summer for barbecues under the grapevine in the back garden, something that we will all greatly miss. Hardly ever apart in their lives, Dad passed away six weeks after our Mum so in some way we can take comfort from the thought that they can be together again. We were very lucky to have such wonderful parents for so much of our lives.
